Try out.. Light to dark effect.

We did a try out using the effect light to dark, it was just me and Toni walking towards the camera.

We did this because we wanted to see if we could film in the light but make it look like it’s being filmed at night.

When editing we decided to have one in colour and one in black and white, this would mean we could see how the light would effect the filming.

The black and white one looked better, but it hid my face which is the effect we wanted but we still want to be able to see the characters reactions.

Thriller idea 1 (my idea)

PERSONA

(The particular type of character that a person seems to have, which is often different from their real or private character)

Narrative 

It will be filmed at night

Someone running down a road holding the camera so shows the audience a POV shot.
You would hear heavy breathing and panting but no one knows who the character is

The person then falls or trips and is laid on the floor

The final shot will be a masked man which will then lead to a fade out.

The film could start with a voice over in the background saying ’24 hours earlier’

So then the audience would know the film will be about how it all happened and the story behind it.

The film is how the character sees everything

When the character is running you can hear the breathing and panting and the quite music in the background.

Music lyrics

The song will be played as the character is running

 to create a sense of mystery, which is a thriller genre.

 It will be played in slow motion to add affect of the

 mystery and to build suspense.

Location

The location will be filmed at night which we will most likely edit using ‘day to night’ 

Props and characters

There will be two characters in this idea, the villain and the character running.

You wouldn’t see the character that’s running as I thought it would be good to show what she can see (a point of view shot)

Also, you would only see the villain for a split second as the mask will suddenly appear for the end shot.

PERIL OF THE NIGHT.

(Imminent danger,

Exposure to the risk of harm or loss,

Something that endangers or involves risk,

A source of danger; a possibility of incurring loss or misfortune)

Narrative 

 Two girls hear something on the tv/radio and go and investigate

Two girls walking down a road, with a torch

Car headlights 

Headlights turn off

Hear car door go and footsteps get louder as someone walks towards the girls

Torches drop

See the girls shadows run away

could be someone telling the story in the background, or there could be music with the girls laughing

Thriller idea 3 (Jack's idea)

PESTILENCE.

(If someone is pestilent they can be anything from annoying to deadly. Can be morally, physically, socially or politically harmful or pernicious. It can refer to anything that is particularly disruptive to society)

Narrative 

¢  Two people talking

¢  Scene changes to a murder being took place

¢  Two different mini-stories taking place

¢  Agents talk about a murder, murder portrayed during flashbacks.

¢  scenes in a normal room, murder can be filmed in a small outside hut.

¢  Murder would take place at night. 

The ‘people’ discussing the villain and his previous crimes (voice over the villain walking)

• - ‘he’s dangerous’
• -   ‘we need to catch him before he kills again’
• -    ‘he’s a danger to society’
• - ‘most wanted in England’

Characters

 Victim, Villain, two criminal investigators.

Credits

• Credits would be used with an effect of card with letters cut out and a torch shone through to give a stencil effect.
• -credits used by files, which would be slapped down on a desk.
