This is the thriller Toni, Jack and I created which we have named Pestilence. Pestilence meaning;
'If someone is pestilent they can be anything from annoying to deadly. Can be morally, physically, socially or politically harmful or pernicious. It can refer to anything that is particularly disruptive to society'. We thought this definition descibe our villian character well and went well with the thriller genre effectively.
We all took part in the thriller whether that be, filmimg, editing or acting. We made sure we learn't from the mistakes from out previous filming task and used that to help us create a more steady, effective film. for example, we made sure our editing wasn't over the top such as adding different transitions everywhere. We stuck to the same transisiton all the way through due to the fact it helped us create a flashback atmosphere and didn't confuse the audience. We added different shots such as close-ups to hide the location from the audience and show the characters facial feautures/actions. We also added point of view shots so you could see the characters reactions from their view so it was more effective to watch. Doing this showed our skill in using the equipment and editing to make an effective film for our target audience.
The soundtrack for our peice worked really well for our thriller. We created the soundtrack ourselves using a programme on the macs. It created an eerie atmosphere which we wanted and built up in some areas in which we fitted to fit the scenes of suspence. We also created the title and ident ourselves to make it more effective than just sticking in templete designs. It also shows how we use our own designs to make these.
To improve on this peice I would try and make sure we got a variety of shots throughout each scene and improve on the editing process as some scenes were strachy and needed work to it. Doing this will make it flow more together and fit together as a thriller.
Overall, I believe all worked at our best and worked well as a team. We all put in the same amount of effort to create this. Even though there were some disagreements we overcame them so we were able to continue working together effectively as a team.
